Group Structure
Selecta is a family-owned company that has worked for generations exclusively in the professional horticulture industry. Selecta consists of a number of enterprises which, as legally independent companies, administer different functions in the areas of administration, marketing & sales, production as well as research and development. The company’s headquarters are located in Germany (Stuttgart). In addition to the company management, central functions such as supply chain management, IT and general administration are performed there. Furthermore, an essential part of the breeding and development activities is concentrated in Stuttgart.
According to the phrase “think global, act local”, Selecta is present, especially in the marketing department with branch offices in different countries. This is how Selecta achieves even larger marketability and better services. With the goal of continuously improving our efficiency, the production capacities in the so-called "off shore" locations, such as Eastern Africa and on the Canary Islands, have been specifically expanded within the last few years by means of qualitative (outer and inner quality and supply chain) as well as quantitative (area) measures.

We concentrate exclusively on the breeding, the propagation as well as the distribution of ornamental plants that can be propagated vegetatively. Selecta is specialised in the following market segments: Bedding and balcony plants, perennials and grasses, potted plants as well as cut flowers.
Selecta ranks among the world’s leading breeders in several of these areas: For example, with
Pelargonium, Calibrachoa and Osteospermum in the area of bedding and balcony plants, or with poinsettias and potted carnations in the area of potted plants and with carnations as cut flowers.
Selecta is the professional and efficient partner for professional horticulture. Our most important goal is the absolute quality of our products, which includes breeding varieties that have both producer and consumer qualities, producing first-class young plants and ensuring on-time deliveries even in peak season and with attractive terms. The Management
The management consists of Christian, Nils and Per Klemm as well as Dr. Ulrich Sander. Altogether this team has more than 70 years of experience in the horticulture industry. This offers distinct advantages for our customers: Long-term, oriented intellect and conduct and a deep appreciation of the present and future requirements which go with and stand for professional horticulture.
